The American Youth Council has a new partner, the Dreams For Kids children's charity, with whom we have developed the Atlanta Holiday For Hope program.

Dreams for Kids, Inc. is a Chicago-based children’s charity which for over 20 years has provided youth empowerment programs for children living in poverty and with disabilities.  This year will mark the 20th anniversary of their Holiday For Hope program. It is the largest holiday event of its kind in the world. HFH has over 1,000 homeless and severely underprivileged kids celebrating in Chicago and similar events hosted in countries all over the world .  See www.dreamsforkids.org.

Honorary Chairman for the Holiday For Hope Atlanta event is again Congressman Tom Price who represents the 6th congressional district in Georgia.  See the Press Release below.

The American Youth Council, Inc. will synchronize the Holiday for Hope Atlanta 2011 event with the fifth annual presentation of its premier high school football all-star event, the Cobb Senior Bowl.  The 120 athletes in the event will assist with gift-wrapping and participate with the 1000+ children and families at the HFH event, which is scheduled for December 10, 2011.

AYC’s service partner for the Holiday For Hope Atlanta event is the Children’s Restoration Network, which supports 2500 children in 135 group homes and shelters  in the Atlanta GA region.  See www.childrn.org.

Kenyan orphans receive first shipment

The American Youth Council, Inc., along with its partner organization K.I.D.S. (Kids in Distressed Situations), has a new partnership with the Carters/OshKosh Corporation in the Atlanta Metro area.

Carters/OshKosh has 18 retail outlets in Georgia, and those stores generously donate returns and overruns to AYC, for distribution to the 140 group homes, shelters, and international ministries supported.

In March, 2011, AYC worked with Project 82 Kenya, an organization supporting refugee camps and the children there to provide over 200 lbs. of infant and young childrens' clothing donated by Carters/OshKosh.

K.I.D.S., develops relationships with manufacturers and corporations and provides tremendous assistance to non profits with the brokering of donations of clothing, toys, books and other childrens' goods.

K.I.D.S. was a key partner for AYC in the December 2010 Holilday For Hope event, where we served 1000 homeless children.  With K.I.D.S. generosity, a further 3000 homeless and economically disadvantaged children received Christmas presents.
